the GRAVE of NOBODY'S DARLING
a dejavu dream of rock and roll waltzes and dangerous melodies
They say that's when it happens.
At that very moment when you look away,
just when you least expect it, you suddenly realize it's too late.
Skirting the lines between indie-listening and stardust rock, the Grave of Nobody's
Darling pulls you in and knocks you down with beautiful songs and siren vocals
that follow you all through the day and out across the night.
Originally formed in Chicago in 2004 as an acoustic 3-piece, the Grave has moved
on to the high desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is now an electric 4-piece.
The Grave of Nobody's Darling is songwriter Jessica Billey on guitar and vocals,
Bud Melvin on pedal steel and banjo, Jill McArthur on drums, and Clifford Grindstaff
on bass.

Jessica Billey
Shifting gears to guitar and lead vocals, Jessica has discovered a new penchant
and talent for songwriting. A long-time regular on the stage and in the studio,
she is best known for violin and harmony vocals. Jessica has played and toured
with many bands including the Mekons, Smog, Nicolai Dunger, Sally Timms, Simon Joyner,
the Boxhead Ensemble, Bonnevill, the Lowlights, Moonshine Willy, and Cobra//Group;
and has recorded with bands on Drag City, Bar/None, JagJaguwar, Atavistic, Bella Union,
Quarterstick, Carrot Top, Truckstop, and Bloodshot Records. As well as being an
accomplished visual artist, her additional music projects include Lionhead Bunny
and the Blue Rose Ramblers.

Bud Melvin
A solo artist in his own right, Bud is the Grave's not-so-secret weapon. Armed with
pedal steel, electrified banjo, and a true musical genius, he kicks the songs up a
notch and pushes them right to the edge. Along with various side-man excursions in
the Lowlights, Cobra//Group, Slow Planet, and the Blind Robins, Bud's current projects
also include Lionhead Bunny and the Blue Rose Ramblers. One of the first original gameboy
music trailbalzers, he recently released a solo record called "East of Eden" along with a
mini-cd entitled "Nightside Soundtrack". From Tokyo to Stockholm, New Mexico to New York,
he is an all-star favorite one-man band in the 8-bit scene.

Jill McArthur
Without a doubt, Jill is one of New Mexico's best and most sought-after drummers.
Originally from Texas, she taught herself how to play drums by sneaking onto her
brother's kit while he wasn't looking. An actual sister to the Brothers and Sisters
drummer Greg McArthur, Jill also makes regular appearances with the Lowlights and
the Foxx, and is a graduating member of one of Albuquerque's favorite bands, the
Mindy Set.

Clifford Grindstaff
A long-time local on the Albuquerque scene, by way of Atlanta via Tennessee, Clifford
holds down the Grave with a super sonic layer of bass. An avid and talented
multi-instrumentalist with limitless creativity, he also plays with the Shoulder
Voices on guitar and vocals, and has recently started stepping out with a solo set
of micro-tonal pop songs. Never without a new muse biting at his heels, Clifford
also conducts his own 16-piece symphonic rock project called Morn.
